Leeds United have been left baffled following a photograph and statement on Instagram by someone having claimed to have signed for the club.

Amadou Haidara Cherif posted a picture of himself in a Leeds United scarf, with someone suggested as his agent, in front of a large Leeds badge, while he claimed to have signed for the club. And to deepen the mystery, Haidara is followed on Instagram by Leeds winger Hadi Sacko.

Haidara wrote: "Never drop…new start @lufcofficial. Thank you at the club for his confidence and to God for for his mercy #HardWorkPaysOff #FreshStart."

However, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds have no idea who the person in question is and are baffled as to what the post is.

The post and comments have now been deleted from Instagram, further deepening the mystery.
