Benfica will pocket around €800,000 from David Luiz's return to Chelsea from Paris Saint-Germain.

Luiz arrived at Benfica at the age of 19 and remained at the Estadio da Luz until a switch to Chelsea when he was 23. As such, the Portuguese side are entitled to a FIFA solidarity payment from his latest move.

Chelsea are estimated to have paid around €38.5m to sign the Brazil international, meaning Benfica will pocket close to €800,000 from the transfer going through.

The Premier League side sold Luiz to PSG in 2014, but just two years later he is back at Stamford Bridge.

The defender enjoyed huge success at the Parc des Princes, winning the French title during both his seasons at the club, as well as collecting two French Cups and two French League Cups.
