Sadio Mane has handed Liverpool a huge boost after returning to the club’s training ground earlier today.

It was speculated that the Senegal international picked up an injury after he was substituted in the second half during his nation’s 2-0 win over Namibia in an African Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday.

But according to Press Association Sport, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp called Mane on Sunday to check up on the winger’s fitness.

Mane gave the German a positive response, and hence the 24-year-old returned for training at Melwood on Monday.

Liverpool, who snapped up Mane for Southampton in the summer, are currently 11th in the Premier League with just four points from three outings.
