Saint-Etienne defender Leo Lacroix admits that would have loved to take up the challenge of facing Zlatan Ibrahimovic ahead of his side’s clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

The 24-year-old Swiss defender joined the Ligue 1 outfit from FC Sion on deadline day and is getting ready to play for his new side this weekend, after the end of the international break.

Ahead of their trip to the French capital, Lacroix is looking forward to facing the French champions, but admits that he is regretting missing out on the opportunity to face Ibrahimovic, who joined Manchester United this summer.

Lacroix told L’Equipe: “It must have been incredible to face such an exceptional striker.

“I discussed it with the other defenders, and that’s what they told me.”
