Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper David Raya has reflected on his fond memories of beating Leeds United last year.

The young goalkeeper made his full debut for the club in April 2015 against Leeds at Elland Road, and Blackburn scored a comfortable 3-0 win over the Yorkshire giants on that day.

Owen Coyle has confirmed that the 21-year-old will get his chance in the EFL Cup clash later this evening at Elland Road, and Raya reflected on the memories of beating Leeds last year.

He admits that it was a wonderful occasion for him and his family, and it became even more special as he kept a clean sheet and was part of a winning side on his full debut.

"I made my full debut with Blackburn there, so it will bring some good memories back", Raya told Rovers PlayerHD.

"It is going to be good for me going back to Elland Road and hopefully we'll get the win.

"We won 3-0 on my full debut, you couldn't have asked for anything more, it was a great game and a great day for me and my family.”

Leeds scored a 2-1 win over Blackburn last week at Elland Road in the Championship and have found some form with back-to-back wins, coming into today’s EFL Cup clash.

The west Yorkshire giants are favourites to see off Blackburn’s challenge, but Raya and his colleagues are out to score an upset at Elland Road.
