Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has refused to comment on Jose Mourinho’s jibes at him in a soon to be published book on the current Manchester United manager.

Wenger and Mourinho have been sharing a fractious relationship since the Portuguese landed at Chelsea over a decade ago, and it has often come to boiling point in recent years.

They have been involved in touchline scuffles and have taken aim at each other, but in excerpts from a recent book on Mourinho it has been revealed that the current Manchester United boss once said that he wanted to “break his [Wenger’s] face”.

The Frenchman has revealed that neither has he read the book, nor he has any plans to read it, and he steered clear of saying anything about Mourinho’s attacks on him.

He took aim at the Manchester United manager by saying that unlike some, he is more of a constructive man, and just wants to focus on football.

When asked about the excerpts from the book, Wenger said in a press conference: “Look I haven’t read the book and I certainly will not read it so I can’t comment on that.

“I talk about football and that’s what I do.

"I’m not on a destructive mode, I’m more constructive and I can’t comment on what because I’m focused on tomorrow’s game.”

Wenger and Mourinho are scheduled to resume their personal rivalry when Arsenal travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on 19th November.
