Leeds United legend Eddie Gray has underlined the importance of the Whites continuing their good run of form against Ipswich Town.

After a lackadaisical start to their season, Leeds have picked up form over the last week or so, and are currently on a three-game winning streak which has helped them to surge up the league table and move forward in the EFL Cup.

Going into today’s league clash against Ipswich at Elland Road, Leeds are high on confidence, and Gray feels that it is important that his side try to hold on to their momentum against the Blues.

While Leeds are in a lot more comfortable position at the moment than a few weeks ago, the former winger stressed that a defeat could again send them tumbling down the league table.

Speaking to LUTV, the Leeds legend said: “You look at the league now, and Leeds are in healthy and better position now.

“But you don’t win a game and you drop back a few places again; you are hovering just below mid-table.

“You will want to get to the top half of the table, and everybody thinks that you could have a realistic chance of getting into that top six.”

The Leeds will have to banish last season’s memories for success against Ipswich as the Blues did a league double over the Yorkshire giants in the 2015/16 campaign.
