Scott Sinclair has insisted that he will have nothing to prove when Celtic play Manchester City in a Champions League fixture on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old, who has been in sparkling form since joining the Hoops form Aston Villa in the summer, previously endured a difficult spell at Manchester City.

Sinclair was snapped up by the Citizens from Swansea City in 2012, but the winger was deemed surplus to requirements after just one season at the Etihad Stadium.

The Englishman, who spent the 2013/14 campaign on loan at West Bromwich Albion, played the second half of the next season on loan at Aston Villa before the Villains made the move permanent in 2015.

And Sinclair, who explained that he will enjoy playing against his former employers in the Champions League, is however, expecting a tough outing at Parkhead on Wednesday.

But the former Chelsea man was quick to add that he thinks the home support at Celtic Park might slightly tilt the balance in his side’s favour.

“It’s going to be a tough game”, he told the club’s official site.

“Everyone knows that, but with us having all our fans behind us, it’ll be a real good edge, so we just need to have that belief and go out there and give it 100 per cent.

“It’ll be great to see some old friends but for me it’s just another game. I just go out there and do what I can and give it my best.

“I don’t have anything to prove. It’s great for me that I’m enjoying my football now and I’m playing with a smile on my face and I’ll just go out and enjoy it on Wednesday.”

Sinclair has thus far scored seven goals in 11 appearances in all competitions for Celtic, in addition to providing three assists.
