Gaetano Berardi will feature for Leeds United Under-23s in their Professional Development League game against Bristol City on Monday evening as the full-back continues his comeback from a hamstring injury.

The 28-year-old, who joined the Whites from Sampdoria in 2014, struggled with injury issues last season.

Berardi then returned to action in in Leeds’ first Championship game of the season against Queens Park Rangers in early August, a game the Yorkshire giants lost 3-0.

However, the Italian lasted just 22 minutes and had to be substituted after picking up a hamstring injury at Loftus Road.

Berardi has since been sidelined, with Leeds boss Garry Monk revealing last week that he will not rush the defender back into first team action.
