Leeds United boss Garry Monk is expecting a tough encounter against Bristol City, but has advised his players to just concentrate on playing their game.

Leeds have picked up momentum over the course of the past couple of weeks, and are currently in the middle of a four-game winning streak, going into tonight’s clash at Ashton Gate.

Bristol are above Leeds in the league table, and are themselves in good form ahead of welcoming the Yorkshire giants, but Monk believes his men just need to trust their methods tonight.

The Leeds boss is aware of the threats Bristol City possess and admits that they need to respect their opponents, but believes that if his side just concentrate on getting their performance right, they can get a win at Ashton Gate.

The 37-year-old told LUTV: “We have shown that we can play our way, away and at home.

“That is always good for the team to understand and recognise but we [have to] go down there and concentrate on ourselves, and what we have been doing.

“We go down there and focus on us but respect them, respect their strength; they are in very good form, so it is going to be a very difficult game.

“We are under no illusions how difficult it is going to be, but if we focus on ourselves, put the right level of effort and commitment into the game, then we can have a good result.”

Leeds’ last trip to Ashton Gate finished in a disappointing 2-2 draw after Bristol City scored two late goals to earn a point from the fixture.
