Liverpool have been tracking the performances of Sassuolo striker Gregoire Defrel and could make a move to sign him next summer.

The 25-year-old French striker has started the season in blistering fashion in Italy, and has netted seven goals in nine appearances for Sassuolo in the current campaign.




His early season performances have caught the eye of a number of scouts across Europe, and it has been suggested that Liverpool are keeping a close watch on him this season.

According to Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the Premier League giants are considering making a move for him next summer, and have been keeping track of his displays in Serie A.
 


A product of the Parma academy, Defrel joined Sassuolo from AC Cesena last summer, and has scored 14 goals in a 44 appearances for the Serie A outfit since his arrival.

Liverpool have a number of attacking options already in their squad, but Defrel’s performances have caught the attention of Jurgen Klopp, and he is keen to keep a watch on him.

The Frenchman has a contract until 2020 with the club.
