Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has not ruled out the possibility of him managing the England national team in the future.

The Football Association appointed Sam Allardyce as the Three Lions’ new manager in the summer, replacing Roy Hodgson, after a disappointing European Championship campaign in France.

But the former West Ham United and Sunderland manager lasted just 67 days in the post before leaving the role by mutual consent earlier in the week, following a newspaper sting operation.

England Under-21 boss Gareth Southgate has been temporarily given charge of the senior team, with the FA on the lookout for a new manager.

Wenger, whose contract with Arsenal is set to expire next summer, has been touted as a possible candidate for the England job.

And the Frenchman, who explained that he may take up the England job in the future if he is free, however, insisted that presently he is fully focused on Arsenal.

"My priority is to do well here for my club”, Wenger said in his pre-match press conference on Friday.

“One day, if I'm free, why not?

"But now I am focused on my job.”

Wenger, whose side will next face Burnley on Sunday, marked his 20th year in charge of Arsenal by beating Chelsea 3-0 last weekend.
