Rangers star James Tavernier has revealed that he is proud of his brother Marcus, who has signed his first professional contract with Middlesbrough today.

Marcus, who is a product of Boro’s youth system, is yet to make a senior appearance for the newly promoted Premier League team.

However, the 17-year-old midfielder has heavily featured for Middlesbrough’s Under-23 team this season, and his impressive outings for the development side prompted the Riverside Stadium outfit to hand the starlet his first professional contract.

And Tavernier, who played a key role in helping Rangers return to the Scottish Premiership for the first time in four years after they had to start life in the fourth tier, following their liquidation in 2012, stated that he is proud of his brother for signing his first professional contract with Middlesbrough.

“Really proud of you bro”, he tweeted, after Marcus announced the news.
