Arsenal new boy Shkodran Mustafi is aware of the pressure his price tag can bring, but he is not thinking about it as he did not have the power to influence it.

The Germany international was snapped up by the Gunners from Spanish giants Valencia for around £35m in the summer.

Mustafi has thus far made six appearances in all competitions for Arsenal, with the north London club conceding a total of just three goals in those games, in addition to keeping three clean sheets.

And the 24-year-old, who revealed that he was keen to join Arsenal, explained that he is not dwelling on the big money the Emirates Stadium outfit splashed out to snap him up.

“I wanted to join Arsenal, everything else was negotiated by the clubs”, he told German magazine Sport Bild.

“Of course, it’s an incredible amount and I know the pressure it can bring.

"But I could not influence that, so I didn't think about it."

Mustafi, who failed to make his mark in England in his previous stint in the country with Everton between 2009 and 2012, is contracted with Arsenal until 2021.

He also has 13 caps and a goal for Germany to his name.
