Theo Walcott thinks Arsenal's 3-2 win over Swansea City is a very good result given what happened to the club's Premier League title rivals.

While Arsenal weathered having a man sent off in Granit Xhaka and late pressure from the Swans at the Emirates Stadium to win, Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Everton, while Tottenham Hotspur could only draw 1-1 away at West Brom.

Three points for Arsenal means they are now level on points at the top of the league table with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, while they have moved past Spurs and into second.

And given their rivals dropped points, Walcott can see the benefit of Arsenal taking all three points.

"It's always hard after the international break for everyone to get back into a rhythm, but I would rather have had a scruffy game and win so that's all that matters", he said on the BBC's Final Score programme.

"Looking at the results today I think it's a very good result", Walcott added.

Arsenal now take a break from Premier League duty with a Champions League match at home against Ludogorets Razgrad on the agenda for Wednesday night.

Their next league game comes at home against Middlesbrough next Saturday.
