Arsenal linked defender Djibril Sidibe has insisted that he is happy at Monaco and could opt to stay at the Stade Louis II for many years to come.

The French full-back, who joined Monaco in the summer from Lille, revealed earlier this month that he could have also ended up at Arsenal during the transfer window.

Sidibe further added that he is very attracted towards playing in the Premier League and might consider moving to England at the end of the season to fulfil his dream.

Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim didn’t appreciate the fact that Sidibe suggested that he might stay at the club for just one season and the defender has tried to clarify his statement.

He reiterated his love for the Premier League, but stressed that while talking about his future, he didn’t mean that he will consider leaving Monaco next summer.

When asked about his love for the Premier League and his recent statements, Sidibe was quoted as saying by L’Equipe: “It was always very clear from the beginning.

“I said and I repeat, that it is league that attracts me, but today I am at Monaco and I am very happy.

“When I speak of the future, I am not necessarily talking about next year and why not stay here many years?”

Sidibe has a contract until 2021 with Monaco.
