Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has provided a positive injury update on striker Harry Kane, who has been out for over a month with an ankle injury.

The in-form striker picked up the injury against Sunderland on 18th September and has since missed six matches in all competitions for the White Hart Lane side.

The striking responsibilities has since primarily been taken up by new arrival Vincent Janssen, who is yet to match up to the standards set by his striking partner, having found the back of the just once in 12 matches.

The news of Kane's improvement will therefore not only enthuse the fans, but will also encourage the manager as he looks for more options up the pitch.

“We’re happy with Harry. He’s started to run", Pochettino explained at a press conference this afternoon.

"He’s training alone at the moment working with the physio and sports science, but he is positive, we’re positive and it’s good to see him back out on the pitch."

It would however take some more time for the young English striker to regain full match fitness and get back to action.

Before being injured in mid-September, Kane went on to play six games for his team, in the course of which he scored two goals and also provided his team-mates with a single assist.
