Chelsea manager Antonio Conte admits that Paul Pogba always dreamt of returning to Manchester United after he left the club in 2012.

Conte was Juventus manager when the Italian champions snared the young Pogba from Manchester United for a paltry compensation fee after the Frenchman felt frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities at Old Trafford.

Pogba won four league titles at Juventus and played in a Champions League final with the Bianconeri before Manchester United forked out a world record fee of £89m to sign him in the summer.

Conte acknowledged that the Frenchman received his football grounding in England and further revealed that Pogba always wanted to return to Manchester United at some point after he joined Juventus in 2012.

When asked about his experience with Pogba in Turin, the Chelsea boss said in a press conference: “He was born in England form the footballing aspect and he came back here.
