Ex-Leeds United forward Andy Ritchie thinks head coach Garry Monk will try to disrupt Norwich City’s game when they visit Elland Road for an EFL Cup game on Tuesday night.

The Whites, who have beaten Fleetwood Town, Luton Town and Blackburn Rovers in the EFL Cup, are dreaming of seeing off the Canaries.

Leeds are keen to make further progress in the EFL Cup as they look to set up a tie against one of the Premier League big boys, but Norwich have been in good form this season.

And Ritchie feels Norwich as a result will be heading to Elland Road full of confidence and believing they can knock Leeds out.

But the 55-year-old believes with Leeds having the home support behind them, Monk will want his charges to “knock the stuffing out” of Norwich.

“They are flying high but Leeds have home advantage and the Elland Road crowd behind them so he will think of ways of how he is going to stop them playing", Ritchie wrote in his column in the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“City will be coming and trying to put their stamp on the game but you want to silence them.

“They will be coming forward full of bravado and thinking they can come and get a result and Leeds have got to make sure that they knock that stuffing out of them, really.”

Following Tuesday’s meeting with Norwich, Leeds will again face the Canaries in a league fixture on 5th November.
