Leeds United forward Kemar Roofe is sure that the more games head coach Garry Monk hands him, the more his confidence will continue to grow.

The Yorkshire giants splashed out around £3m to sign Roofe from Oxford United in the summer transfer window, but he has only been a bit-part player under Monk so far.

However, an injury suffered by winger Stuart Dallas on international duty has opened the door for Roofe and he believes he will get better game by game; the forward played a key part in the goal scored by Leeds in their 1-0 win away at Wolves on Saturday.

"My confidence will come with game time and just believing in myself – and I'm doing that", Roofe explained on BBC Radio Leeds.

"It's been tough, but it's part of football", he continued, addressing his run out of the team.

"Only eleven players can play and sometimes you have to wait your turn and take your chance.

"Hopefully I am doing that", Roofe added.

Roofe will be hoping for another vote of confidence from Monk when Norwich City visit Elland Road on Tueday evening for an EFL Cup tie.

Leeds have already beaten Fleetwood Town, Luton Town and Blackburn Rovers in the EFL Cup and are hoping to put Norwich to the sword to then draw one of the Premier League's big boys in a money-spinning fixture.
