Rangers midfielder Josh Windass has admitted he was below his best in the Gers' Scottish League Cup semi-final loss to rivals Celtic on Sunday.

Mark Warburton's men only lost 1-0, conceding a goal three minutes from time as Moussa Dembele scored, but Celtic were rampant and Rangers goalkeeper Matt Gilks was on top form to keep the damage at a minimum.




Windass has been praised for his performances since he joined Rangers in the summer, but the former Accrington Stanley man feels he was off the boil in the big game at Hampden.

The midfielder wrote on Instagram: "Not one of my better performances yesterday.

Rangers have now lost twice against Celtic this season, in consecutive months, and the pressure is mounting on Warburton.

The Gers boss will be aiming for his side to pick up maximum points against St Johnstone and Kilmarnock over the next week, with both matches at Ibrox.

December appears to be a month which will test Rangers, with games against Aberdeen, Hearts and Celtic all on the agenda.
