Ex-Celtic defender Tom Boyd feels Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers will make a couple of changes to his side for their trip to Ross County on Wednesday.

The Hoops, who are aiming for their sixth consecutive Scottish Premiership title, beat Rangers 1-0 at Hampden to reach the final of the Scottish League Cup.

With the league clash against Ross County being just three days after the Old Firm derby, Boyd thinks Rodgers may slightly tweak his starting line-up to freshen things up a bit.

The 50-year-old went on to add that the likes of Stuart Armstrong and Patrick Roberts, who have been sparingly used by Rodgers this season, may get a look-in at the Global Energy Stadium.

“I think he will probably make a couple [of changes], I think Stuart Armstrong will probably get a start in midfield, maybe Patrick Roberts as well, I am not too sure”, he told Celtic TV.

“I think he will make about a couple of changes just to freshen up and it also benefits the players who need game time.”

Celtic, who have lost just one of their last eight games in all competitions, a 2-0 defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League earlier in the month, are currently atop the Scottish Premiership table with 22 points from eight outings.
