Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is confident that starlet Tammy Abraham has a great future ahead of him at Stamford Bridge.

After making a name for himself in the Chelsea youth squads over the last few seasons, the Blues decided to loan him out to Bristol City in the summer to provide the striker with experience of playing first team football.




And the 18-year-old has taken to senior football like a duck to water and has made a big mark at Bristol City, with already eleven goals to his name in 17 appearances in all competitions.

Conte has indicated that that the club are closely tracking the progress of the young striker and the Italian is confident that the England Under-21 man has a future at Chelsea.
 


He admits that the coaching staff felt in the summer after working with Abraham that he needed regular senior football this season, which prompted his move to Bristol City.

The Chelsea boss said in a press conference: “Abraham is another young player and is the future for Chelsea, for sure.

“He is very, very young and I saw him only one week during the pre-season in America, then we decided to send him to play every game and to get experience and to come back with us.

“Abraham has great potential in the technical and physical aspect.”

Abraham is expected to be in action when Bristol City take on Hull City in the EFL Cup last 16 clash tonight; he has scored in each of three previous rounds of the competition.
