Tom Boyd is of the opinion that Celtic’s 1-0 win over Rangers on Sunday was a more one-sided game than the season’s first Old Firm derby, which the Hoops won 5-1 last month.

Celtic, who won the Scottish League Cup semi-final clash, courtesy of Moussa Dembele’s 87th minute goal, dominated proceedings at Hampden.

Brendan Rodgers’ team had eight shots on target compared to Rangers’ three, and Gers goalkeeper Matt Gilks put in a splendid performance between the sticks to keep the scoreline in check.

And Celtic legend Boyd thinks the Bhoys created more opportunities than they did during their 5-1 win over Rangers in the Scottish Premiership in September.

“It was a game that was so one-sided, I think it was more one-sided than the 5-1 game here in terms of opportunities”, he explained on Celtic TV.

“We had great opportunities.

"I think in the 5-1 game at Celtic Park we took more of those opportunities which we didn’t take in yesterday’s [Sunday] game.”

Celtic, who are currently four points clear at the top of the league table with a game in hand, will face Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup final in late November.

The Scottish champions will next face Ross County in the league on Wednesday.
