West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has remained coy on his club’s interest in Chelsea summer signing Michy Batshuayi before he moved to west London.

The Hammers went through a list of potential attacking targets in the summer transfer window before finally convincing Simone Zaza to leave Juventus and join them.

Batshuayi was on West Ham’s striker shortlist during the transfer window and they even reportedly had a big money bid accepted by Marseille before Chelsea signed him.

The bid for the Belgium striker was one of West Ham’s many failed attempts to sign a striker during the summer, but Bilic refused to directly acknowledge that he was interested in Batshuayi.

When asked about the club’s interest in the now Chelsea striker, the West Ham boss said in a press conference: "Batshuayi was on the list of many clubs because of his Marseille achievements.
