Leeds United striker Chris Wood wants the Whites to knuckle down and get results in the league before thinking about their trip to Liverpool next month.

The Yorkshire giants secured a place in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup when they edged out Norwich City on penalties on Tuesday night and they have been drawn to face Liverpool.

With a trip to Anfield down the road, Leeds fans are already excited about playing Premier League heavyweights in the EFL Cup but Wood is inclined towards concentrating on the league for the moment.

The Leeds striker admits that it is a plum draw for the club, but he also feels that they need to focus on picking up Championship points before thinking about their trip to Merseyside next month.

Asked about the EFL Cup draw, the striker told LUTV: “Yes, it’s a nice draw.

“But we have a lot of league games before hand and they are the main important ones that we need to concentrate on before we get to the nice fixture at the end of it.

“As I said we have got three or four games before then and we need to knuckle down and get some good results.”

Leeds will face Burton Albion, Norwich, Newcastle United and Rotherham in the league before their trip to Liverpool on 29th November.
