Liverpool legend John Aldridge thinks the Reds will have to cope with long-ball football from Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp takes his side into the Premier League fixture looking to pick up another three points and continue their impressive form, which sees the Reds level on points with Arsenal and Manchester City at the top of the table after nine games.

Palace, who are eleventh, regularly give Liverpool a stiff test and Aldridge is expecting more of the same from Alan Pardew's men.

The ex-Reds striker also warned his former club about the long-ball game he expects Palace to employ. However, Aldridge is confident Liverpool have the defensive duo in Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren to cope.

"There's no real consistency with Palace, but you know you'll get a tough game", he said on LFC TV.

"The centre halves will have to have their crash helmets on because they do play fairly route one football.

"But we're getting to grips with it with Matip and Lovren.

"They have a good balance there and we are dealing with it a little bit more than we have done in previous years", Aldridge added.

Liverpool have won their last two visits to Selhurst Park, both by a 2-1 scoreline.

And with Palace having lost their last two Premier League games on the spin, Klopp's side will start as favourites to pick up all three points.
