Bertrand Traore has admitted he was initially disappointed Chelsea chose to loan him out to Ajax in the summer transfer window as he felt he was ready to be involved with the first team.

The Blues believed that sending Traore to the Dutch giants to enjoy regular first team football would be good for his development, but Traore was left asking why he was not given a chance at Stamford Bridge.

The forward was all the more baffled given how involved he had been under former boss Guus Hiddink and he told Dutch magazine ELF Voetbal: "I felt and feel that I am ready for Chelsea [so I was disappointed at first].

"I did not see the loan overall [picture]. Why did I play so much in pre-season?

"Why was I allowed to participate so often under Guus Hiddink? Why do young players get no real chance at Chelsea?" he continued.

Chelsea have been criticised for their reluctance to trust the players they produce.

Now though Traore is enjoying being able to feature on a regular basis for Ajax, where he has high hopes and ambitions for the current campaign.

"I want to win all there is to win with Ajax", the 21-year-old forward explained.

"I want to become champions and win the cup – and go very far in the Europa League.

"And be important for the team with many goals and assists."

So far this season Traore has netted twice in ten appearances for Ajax.
