NEC Nijmegen have had a bumper summer due to players they helped develop moving elsewhere, with Vincent Janssen and Jasper Cillessen bringing the cash flooding in.

Striker Janssen swapped AZ Alkmaar for Tottenham Hotspur in a deal which netted the Eredivisie club a transfer fee of a cool €20m.

Janssen spent three years as a youngster at NEC, meaning that the Nijmegen-based club were entitled to a portion of the fee paid by Spurs.

Goalkeeper Cillessen meanwhile was signed by Spanish giants Barcelona from Ajax, who in turn snapped him up from NEC in 2011.

Barcelona paid an initial €13m to sign Cillessen from Ajax and the goalkeeper put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Camp Nou club.
