Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet insists he has huge respect for his former club Sunderland, but still wants nothing less than three points for the Reds on Saturday.

David Moyes' Black Cats appear to be looking at a relegation battle this season in the Premier League, but two wins on the bounce, against Bournemouth and Hull City, respectively, have put a spring in their step.

The victories have raised confidence ahead of Sunderland's trip to Anfield, but Mignolet is hopeful his side can still put the visitors to the sword.

Mignolet played for Sunderland before moving to Liverpool in 2013 and continues to have great respect for the Black Cats.

But he wants nothing less than three points and took to Twitter to write: "Always have massive respect for Sunderland for the great time I had there but tomorrow is business and we want all 3 points!"

Mignolet is unlikely to be starting against his former club though after being dislodged from the Liverpool team by summer signing Loris Karius.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp snapped up Karius from Bundesliga outfit Mainz and though he missed the start of the season through injury, when fit he went straight into the side.

Mignolet has vowed to fight to regain his spot in the team, but inconsistency often saw him criticised during his time as Liverpool's number 1.
