West Ham co-chairman David Gold has revealed that it is still unclear how long Diafra Sakho will be out due to the hamstring injury he picked up in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday.

The striker, who only made his second appearance of the season against the Red Devils, endured mixed feelings at Old Trafford.

Sakho gave the Hammers the lead in the second minute before suffering a hamstring injury and being substituted in the 66th minute in the Premier League clash against Manchester United.

And Gold, who praised Sakho’s goal, insisted that the extent of the Senegalese’s injury will be known only after the scan reports come back.

“It's a hamstring injury, hard to say how long Sakho will be out until we see the scan”, he tweeted.

“Great goal though.”

Sakho, whose first appearance of the season came in the 3-2 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane earlier in the month, missed the start of the season with a back injury.

The Senegal international joined West Ham from French outfit Metz in the summer of 2014.
