Aston Villa full-back Jordan Amavi insists that his team are filled with confidence due to their good recent results, ahead of a trip to face Leeds United on Saturday.

The Villans, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, have managed to put together a string of good results following a disappointing start to the campaign.

Steve Bruce's side are unbeaten in their last seven league matches and are placed eleventh in the league table, just four points off the final playoff place.

Amavi, who has played in 12 of his team's 18 league matches so far, insists that their aim for the season is nothing but gaining promotion.

Villa's good form faces a stiff test at Elland Road though as Bruce's side meet a Leeds outfit in fifth spot and high on a series of good displays.

“It was a tough and difficult season last time out but there’s only one way we’re aiming this season and that’s up", Amavi told his club's official website.

“We are in good form right now and feeling really confident. We’re on a high.

"There are a lot of top quality players in this squad. Our summer signings have been excellent.

“But the main aspect of our dressing room is the team spirit. It’s incredible.

"We’re all as one and have so much fun when we’re together.

"We enjoy each other’s company."

Leeds sold out their Elland Road ground for the visit of Newcastle last weekend and could be on course to do the same against Villa.
