Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola believes that current Blues boss Antonio Conte has done a remarkable job with the team.

The Pensioners are currently flying high and haven't lost in their last seven league matches, being placed at the top of the pile with 31 points from 13 games.

It is in stark contrast with what transpired for the Londoners last season and Zola, who played for Chelsea between 1996 and 2003, believes that the progress is due to the work that the former Italy manager has been doing.

According to Zola, Conte puts in a lot of hard work, with constant effort also going on during matches to bring out the best result possible.

"He's done very well, very, very good. It wasn't an easy job but so far he's doing a really remarkable job", Zola was quoted as saying by beIN Sports.

"He works very hard and it's good to see somebody working hard doing very well."

Citing the example of Chelsea's match against Arsenal, where the Italian switched to the 3-5-2 formation, thereby looking more balanced, Zola said that he is not in any way surprised to see the team being successful.

"I was watching the game against Arsenal and towards the end he went to a 3-5-2 system and they looked more balanced.

"So when he changed it I believe it was the right thing to do.

"It's the perfect shape for the team. In a way I'm not surprised and to be honest he's put a lot of work in it for it to be successful."
