Jan Vertonghen has explained that there is a great buzz surrounding Tottenham Hotspur at the moment after signing a new deal with the north London outfit.

The defender signed a new contract with Spurs on Friday, which will keep him at White Hart Lane until the summer of 2019.

Tottenham, whose unbeaten record in the Premier League came to an end last weekend, following their 2-1 loss to league leaders Chelsea, presently find themselves fifth in the standings with 24 points from 13 games, seven points adrift of the top spot.

And Vertonghen, who stated that he feels privileged to be part of the present Spurs crop, which he finds highly talented, believes the future is great for the club.
