Josh Windass believes that Rangers' 2-1 home win over Aberdeen on Saturday was ample proof of just how together the players at the club are.

Rangers went into the game under real pressure after only beating Dundee and Partick Thistle through late, late goals, and then losing 2-0 away at Hearts in midweek.

But goals from Kenny Miller (52nd minute), who was surprisingly deployed in the midfield three, and Lee Hodson (70th minute) put Aberdeen to the sword, with the visitors only registering an injury time consolation goal as Andrew Considine scored; Clint Hill for Rangers and Ryan Jack for Aberdeen were both sent off late on for two yellow card offences.

Windass, who has been struggling with a hamstring injury, was forced to watch the game from the stands at Ibrox and admits it was a frustrating experience.

He was happy though with how his team-mates performed and feels it showed the incredible unity at the club.

"Hard to watch from the stands but I thought the lads were amazing in the second half especially today", he wrote on Twitter.

"Showed how together we are as players", Windass added.

Rangers are now second in the Scottish Premiership, two points ahead of Hearts and five clear of Aberdeen, though Derek McInnes' men have two games in hand on the Gers.

Next up for Rangers is a visit from Hearts on Saturday.
