Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has heaped praise on attacking midfielder Tom Rogic, who turned out to be the match winner for the Bhoys at Fir Park against Motherwell on Saturday.

Rodgers' team went 2-0 down in the first half of the match against Motherwell, but did well to come from behind to finally clinch the three points with a 4-3 win in the end.

The match was out-and-out thrilling and kept the fans on the edge of their seats for the full 90 minutes. Rogic scored the winning goal to hand his team a win and keep their unbeaten run in the league intact.

Praising the 23-year-old, the former Liverpool manager said Rogic is a player with high levels of technique and stamina. And the way the Australian performs the different kinds of roles he is offered shows his importance to the team, Rodgers stressed.

“He’s an amazing player, with a real high level of technique and he’s improving his stamina all the time”, Rodgers told his club's official website.

“He’s playing in different positions for us but what he can get goals and he’s scoring important goals.

"His contribution was outstanding.”

Rodgers also took time to heap praise on a number of other players, who he believes were outstanding during the second half of the match.

“There were a number of very good performers in the second half.

“The boys down the sides really opened up the pitch for us, Stuart Armstrong was exceptional, along with Cal [Callum McGregor]. Browny [Scott Brown] provided that protection and Tom in that no.10 role was exceptional."
