Divock Origi was handed a signing-on fee of €1.8m when he put pen to paper on a contract to join Liverpool, it has been revealed.

Liverpool forked out around €12m in the summer of 2014 to convince French Ligue 1 side Lille to part with the promising striker. However, as part of the deal the Reds allowed Origi to spend the 2014/15 campaign with Lille.

Origi, according to Football Leaks in Le Soir newspaper, received a fat cheque just for agreeing to join Liverpool, as the Merseyside giants swelled his bank account to the tune of €1.8m.

It has also been revealed that the 21-year-old is earning a weekly salary of €62,411 for his efforts at Anfield.

Origi has struggled to nail down a spot in the side at Liverpool since his arrival, though is still rated highly by manager Jurgen Klopp.
