Olivier Giroud will not be leaving Arsenal in the winter transfer window, an advisor to the player has insisted.

The France international hitman has struggled to command a regular spot in the side at the Emirates Stadium this season, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger preferring Alexis Sanchez as his central striker.

As a result, Giroud has been linked with a switch to Serie A, where AC Milan and Napoli are mooted to be keen on acquiring his services.

But an advisor to the French striker has rubbished suggestions Giroud could leave Arsenal in the winter transfer window and claims he has had no contact with clubs from Italy.

"I have not been in touch with Italian clubs", the advisor told French outlet Foot Mercato.

"Olivier is very good at Arsenal. He is going to complete the season here.

"Nothing is possible in January for Oliver", he continued.

"He has no intention of moving during the winter transfer window."

Giroud has made a total of eleven appearances in all competitions for Arsenal in the current campaign, scoring five goals in the process.

He has not played in seven of the Gunners' Premier League fixtures though, with injury and Wenger's choices keeping him out of the side.

Since joining Arsenal, Giroud has netted 87 goals in 198 games.
