Rangers defender Danny Wilson feels his side need to show more of the battling qualities they displayed against Aberdeen last weekend when they host Hearts at Ibrox this Saturday.

The Glasgow giants suffered a demoralising 2-0 defeat at Tynecastle last week and while the home win over Aberdeen boosted their confidence, the Gers are out for revenge against Hearts this weekend.

The defender admits that too many things were poor about their performance against Hearts the last time around and it is difficult to pinpoint on one or two aspects of that showing.

Wilson feels Rangers showed that they have the heart for a battle against Aberdeen at Ibrox last weekend and believes that they need to show more of that when they take on Hearts this Saturday at home.

When asked about the aspects of the performance they want to improve against Hearts, the defender said on the Rangers Podcast: “There were just too many things.

“You can’t put your finger on and say ‘this was wrong’ or ‘that was wrong’; we have acknowledged that as a team and be better for it.

“You saw on Saturday against Aberdeen when we had more of a battling quality and maybe not as good on the ball, but the desire to make them defend and put them under pressure, it worked for us.

“If we can strike a balance between passing the ball and that, we will be better for it.”

A win will over Hearts on Saturday would help Rangers to maintain their second position in the Scottish Premiership table.
