Chelsea manager Antonio Conte feels it is still too early to term his team favourites to win the title and has urged his players to continue showing the same desire and hunger to succeed.

Under Conte, Chelsea have looked a different team to the one that finished tenth in the league table last season and they are currently leading the charts in the Premier League.

On a run of eight consecutive wins in the league at the moment, Chelsea have already been termed the favourites to win the title despite their slender advantage at the top and Conte feels it is still too early to make such assumptions.

The Chelsea boss admits that his team have been on a nice run of form, but believes it is important that his players maintain their level of desire and commitment in the second half of the season.

When asked does he agree that Chelsea are the favourites to win the league, Conte said in a press conference: “It’s difficult to accept it because we have played just 14 games and we have only played the first part of the season.

“We still need to play the second part.

“We started like an underdog this season, but now it’s difficult to accept it.

"We are playing good football, winning games and it’s important that we don’t lose our hunger.”

Chelsea will look to win their ninth game on the trot in the league when they host West Brom at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
