Chelsea Under-23 attacking midfielder Mason Mount has lauded his side’s character, following their come from behind 3-1 win over Manchester United in the Premier League 2 on Friday night.

The Red Devils dominated the proceedings early on at Aldershot and took the lead in the 19th minute through Axel Tuanzebe.

Chelsea then missed a glorious chance to equalise when Jay Dasilva saw his penalty saved, but they moved on from the disappointment, with Dujon Sterling making it 1-1 in the 30th minute.

Goals from Josimar Quintero and Jacob Maddox after the break helped the young Blues to beat Manchester United and move up to fifth spot in the league.

And Mount thinks his side showed great character to win the game 3-1, despite falling behind early on.

“It was a very good game”, he told Chelsea TV.

“They started and scored the first goal. I thought we showed great character to come back and get the 3-1 win.

“I thought our reaction was very good. We wanted to get more on the ball and dictate the game and I thought we did that after the first goal.

“Obviously the penalty was unlucky, but we moved on from that and got the next goal.”

Chelsea, who are now undefeated in their last seven outings in all competitions, winning four of those, will play no more league fixtures in December.
