Roma are keeping tabs on Chelsea loanee Charly Musonda, according to Italian daily Il Tempo.

The 20-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Betis, was snapped up by the Sevilla-based outfit on a season-long loan deal in June after he impressed during his first spell in Spain.

However, Musonda has managed to clock up just 275 minutes over eight La Liga appearances in the present campaign and has struggled with a knee injury since October.

The winger could return to Chelsea early due to the injury and Real Betis are fearful that the loan deal could be scrapped in January.

And Italian giants Roma are keeping an eye on the situation and as they assess whether to snap the youngster on loan during the winter transfer window, if possible.

Musonda, who is expected to return to action in January, joined Chelsea’s academy from Anderlecht in 2012.

The Belgian is however, yet to make a senior competitive appearance for Chelsea, with whom his present contract expires next summer.

He could find the prospect of first team football in Italy appealing.
