Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has insisted that had no worries about Diego Costa’s attitude ahead of the start of the new season.

The Spain international has been on fire and his dominant performances up front have propelled Chelsea to the top of the Premier League table this season.

Scoring 14 goals in 18 league appearances this season, Costa has looked deadly in front of goal for Conte’s side, but the striker recently revealed that he wanted to return to Atletico Madrid in the summer.

The striker struggled with injuries and form last season and Atletico Madrid wanted to take him back from Chelsea, but Conte managed to hold on to the Spaniard.

And the Chelsea boss stressed that he had very little worries about Costa’s attitude and mentality going into the season as he was convinced the forward would give it his all for the club.

He said in a press conference earlier today: “When he told me that he will stay he assured me that he wanted to fight for the club, his team-mates and the shirt.

“So, no I wasn’t concerned.”

Conte will hope Costa manages to hold on to his form in the second half of the season and propel Chelsea to the Premier League title in May.
