Rangers are closing in on completing the signing of Arsenal talent Jon Toral and are aiming to have the Spaniard secured by the weekend.

Toral is currently on a season-long loan deal in Spain with Granada, but the agreement is tipped to be terminated ahead of time.

The Arsenal midfielder played under current Rangers boss Mark Warburton while on loan at Brentford and the Gers manager is dipping into his contact book to strengthen his squad this month.

According to STV, Toral is expected to join Rangers on loan by the weekend.

He had a stint with Championship outfit Birmingham City last term and will now look to play as much first team football as possible at Ibrox.
