Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho wants to continue in the Premier League and has a number of English clubs interested in snapping him up this month.

The Frenchman has not played a minute of football this season after falling out with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in the summer and has been restricted to featuring for the Under-23s.

He still has a contract until 2020 with the Reds, but is widely expected to leave Anfield in January in search of first team minutes and has offers from France and Turkey.

However, according to French sports daily L’Equipe, the defender wants to continue in England and is expected to prefer a move to a Premier League club this month.

West Brom and Stoke City were interested in the player in the summer and are expected to be in the mix this month too if the defender is intent on joining a Premier League outfit.

However, West Ham and Southampton are also showing real interest in Sakho; Hammers boss Slaven Bilic has already said that he wants Premier League proven players.

And Southampton are expected to be in the market for defenders should Jose Fonte, who slapped in a transfer request recently, leave St. Mary’s in the January transfer window.

Liverpool are said to be open to considering all kinds of offers, whether a loan or a permanent transfer for the French defender.
