Loris Karius has reminded Manchester United that Liverpool are still above them in the league table and have the mettle to beat them at Old Trafford this Sunday.

Manchester United are currently on a winning run of nine games in all competitions, their best run of form since 2009, and are going into Sunday’s big Premier League clash high on confidence.

However, Jose Mourinho’s men are still sixth in the league table and are five points behind Liverpool, who are currently second in the standings behind Chelsea at the top.

And ahead of their trip to Old Trafford, the Liverpool goalkeeper has not shied away from the opportunity to remind the Red Devils that his side are still above them in the league table.

Karius admits that it’s a big game for both sides and is confident that the Reds have it in them to beat Mourinho’s in-form team on their home turf on Sunday.

Looking forward to the weekend, the German told LFC TV: “Another really difficult game.

“It’s a big game for everyone, for them, for us – a completely different situation as it’s a league game, not a cup.

“We are confident about our strengths and we are above them in the table so obviously we will try and win that game.”
