Liverpool star Divock Origi has admitted he believes the Premier League title race is going to be intense and stressed his team will have to stay together to finish the season well.

The Reds dropped two points after drawing 1-1 against Manchester United on Sunday at Old Trafford, but maintained their five-point advantage over their fierce rivals.

Jurgen Klopp’s men took the lead in the first half when James Milner scored from the penalty spot to break the deadlock.

However, they were not able to protect their lead and had to settle for a draw after Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the equaliser for the Red Devils in the 84th minute.

The draw saw Liverpool slip into the third spot in the Premier League table, seven points behind league leaders Chelsea.

Origi, who was replaced in the 61st minute by Philippe Coutinho, was asked about the importance of maintaining the gap with Manchester United and he said it is crucial to stay ahead of the other teams.

“Of course we are still in the early stage of the season, but it's important to get the maximum points and to stay ahead of other teams”, Origi told the club website.

The Belgian also said that there are still lot of games left in the season and it is important for the Reds to stick together to get something out of it.

“I think it's very tight above but you just have to look at it game by game, there's still a lot of big games, important games, so we have to stay together and finish well”, added the 21-year-old.

Liverpool have 45 points from 21 games and are level with second placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have a superior goal difference.
