PSV Eindhoven will earn just €600,000 from Memphis Depay's switch from Manchester United to Lyon.

The Dutch giants sold Depay to the Red Devils with high hopes in the summer of 2015 as the winger chose Old Trafford ahead of potential moves to Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.

He cost Manchester United around €30m and PSV had a number of bonus payments built into the deal they were hoping to realise.

But with Depay having flopped at Old Trafford, they will pocket just €600,000 extra from his switch to Lyon, according to Dutch daily the Eindhovens Dagblad.

Manchester United are taking a big hit on Depay by selling for a fee of around €18m, although they have included bonus payments, also in the hope that the winger can rediscover his form in France.

The Red Devils also have a buy-back clause, as well as a sell-on clause, as they aim to cover all their bases.

PSV had been hoping Depay would shine at Manchester United and he did take the iconic number 7 shirt at the club.

But he struggled to make any meaningful impact and there were also concerns his love of a flashy lifestyle off the pitch was affecting his performances on it.
