Inter Milan defender Danilo D'Ambrosio has revealed that he had a chance to join Chelsea early on during his career.

The 28-year-old, who joined the Nerazzurri from Torino in January 2014, has managed to establish himself in the first team at Inter Milan.

He spent time in Fiorentina’s youth set-up and also counts Potenza and Juve Stabia as his former employers.

And D'Ambrosio explained that during his time in Florence, he had the opportunity to join Premier League giants Chelsea.

The Italian went on to add that he did not move to Stamford Bridge as his parents were against the idea of dividing the family.
