Rangers star Martyn Waghorn has insisted that he has been able to find form of late and stressed that he is getting back to his best.

Waghorn has struggled to break into Mark Warburton’s staring eleven regularly this season and has been in and out of the team.

He scored in his side’s first game of the Scottish Premiership against Hamilton Academical in August but had to wait until December to strike again in the league.

But after grabbing a brace against the Accies and forcing an own goal with his deflected shot in the next match against the Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Waghorn has shown a few glimpses of his best.

The Gers’ attacker feels that he was not up to the level in the first half of the season but is now returning to his best.

“I always believe in myself, and I feel when I had a little spell midway through the first half of the season where I wasn’t quite myself although not the team”, Waghorn told Rangers TV.

“Now I feel I am getting back to where I was.

"The two goals against Hamilton really helped and it’s just about taking my chances when I am back out there.

“I might have to be patient and work my time, but when it comes I am going to be ready”, added the 26-year-old.

Waghorn, who netted 28 times in 36 appearances in all competitions last season, has ten goals in addition to four assists in 20 appearances in all competitions thus far this season.
